The onion smell is a fungal infection and the only cream that clears it is ISOCONAZOLE NITRATE, use a soft vegetable soap to wash with first, a soap that doesn't contain sodium tallowate, then spread ISOCONAZOLE NITRATE fungal cream over the area twice a day for 6 weeks, this is the only fungal cream that will get rid of it, no deodorant over the top otherwise it stops the cream from working! I had the same issues and it was a fungal infection even though i didn't have the red ring, just itchy pits and onion odor that deo would cover and the smell would fill up a room! hope this helps you all!
