I have some cotton shirts that smell fine out of the wash but as soon as I wear them the armpits smell awful, even though my pits without them were fine. From reading your site, I assume this means some malodorous bacteria are still on the shirts. How can I fix this?  I've tried presoaking them in extra detergent, increasing my total detergent in the load, hand scrubbing the shirts' pits in advance of the wash and using Oxiclean as a prewash.
