Can I ask a dermatologist to do a skin biopsy?

Hi, do you mean a skin biopsy to take a sample of the skin vertically? Or do you mean a skin biopsy, as in taking away a last portion of the underarm skin to remove the sweat glands? In case of the first: in terms of research skin biopsies are often taken. In case of the latter, the dermatologist will first advise you some other solutions. Skin excision, skin sympathectomy or axillary liposuction are a rather drastic solutions and there are many alternatives out there. Best, Chris
