this is a very scientific question: when skin sheds from our armpits naturally, do the bacteria inside our armpits also fall off with that skin? does the bacteria inside the skin even ever die?

Hi Susie, thanks for your question. Well, bacteria die off pretty fast, but their children and grandchildren and so on will never die. Skin bacteria have a doubling time of a couple of hours. The skin that sheds off will take the bacteria with it. But bacteria will always remain to the skin left on the body. It is practically impossible to live sterile. So yeah, we'll have to find a way to live with them. Cheers, Chris
