Hi Jenny, yes, this is a great option. Many people are using this, or something similar: citric acid, lemon juice, vinegar, etc. A lower pH is effective in keeping the bacterial load down, and is also effective in maintaining a good microbiome there. A high pH is contraproductive: it is a stimulant for malodor causing bacteria to thrive there. Best, Chris
