Hello Dr Armpit, how are you? I did some researchs and found that hair follicle *infection* could be the cause to body odor. A man actually used to have that strong BO problem but solved it with anti fungal treatments. He says the smell is gone for good. What do you think about it? I'm tired of doctors telling us that it's all in our heads, ughh of course we might make this a bigger deal than it is (quite frankly, people are too busy to make fun 24/7 of your odor) but it still sucks especially when you're a clean person. I cried several times today but I always keep hope, please people don't give up cause if BO wasn't a thing, there would be 0 perfumes or deodorants industry. It just means that we all deal with it at some point, enjoy life, pray, laugh, smile stay strong.

Hi, thank you for your positive message! I like your spirit! It is certainly true that microbiota inhabit the hair follicle area - that is the "mother nest" of the skin microbiome, from where potential body odor starts. Fungi occur all over the human body. They are however not a big part of the underarm area, and I have not encountered a fungus infection in the underarm area. Anti-fungal treatments also decrease the bacterial load, so it is definitely possible this helped in solving the problem. Best, Chris
